Welcome to Sumatra! Our professional private driver will pick you up directly at Kualanamu International Airport (KNO) or your hotel in Medan. From there, we will take a comfortable 3 to 4-hour scenic drive to Bukit Lawang, passing through local towns and the beautiful countryside of Binjai and Kuala villages. Upon arrival in Bukit Lawang, check into your hotel, relax, and enjoy the peaceful jungle atmosphere.
After breakfast at 09:00 AM, your licensed guides from Trekking Sumatra Expedition will meet you at your hotel lobby. We will set off into the lush rainforest for an exciting 6 to 7-hour jungle trek. Along the way, if fortune favors us, you will get the chance to witness wild Sumatran Orangutans, Thomas’s leaf monkeys, Gibbons, or long-tailed macaques thriving in their natural habitat.
In the afternoon, we will take a break to enjoy a delicious jungle lunch and fresh tropical fruits, followed by a short walk to our riverside campsite. There, you can relax, swim in the river, and enjoy the stunning natural landscape. Our team will provide complementary tea, coffee, and snacks, followed by a delicious traditional dinner and fun interactive group games before bed.
Wake up to the sounds of nature and enjoy a hearty jungle breakfast. Today, we trek for another 4 to 5 hours, exploring deeper into the rainforest and learning about ancient medicinal plants. If we are lucky, we might spot endangered Orangutans, White-handed gibbons, and other exotic wildlife. After lunch, the real fun begins! We will splash back to Bukit Lawang in style with a fun traditional tube rafting experience down the river straight to your guesthouse!
Enjoy your final morning breakfast at the hotel. At the designated time, our private driver will pick you up and transfer you safely back to Kualanamu International Airport (KNO) or your hotel in Medan for your next destination.
