Your Complete Journey Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Private Transfer to Bukit Lawang

Welcome to Sumatra! Our professional private driver will pick you up directly at Kualanamu International Airport (KNO) or your hotel in Medan. From there, we will take a comfortable 3 to 4-hour scenic drive to Bukit Lawang, passing through local towns and the beautiful countryside of Binjai and Kuala villages. Upon arrival in Bukit Lawang, check into your hotel, relax, and enjoy the peaceful jungle atmosphere.

Day 2: 3-Day Jungle Trekking Expedition (Day 1)

After breakfast at 09:00 AM, your licensed guides from Trekking Sumatra Expedition will meet you at your hotel lobby. We will head straight into the lush rainforest for an exciting 6 to 7-hour jungle trek. Keep your eyes peeled for wild Sumatran Orangutans, Thomas’s leaf monkeys, Gibbons, and long-tailed macaques. In the afternoon, enjoy a fresh jungle lunch and tropical fruits, followed by a short walk to our riverside campsite. Relax, swim in the river, and enjoy afternoon tea, coffee, and snacks. Our team will serve a delicious traditional dinner, followed by fun interactive group games before a well-needed rest.

Day 3: Wildlife Spotting & Bohorok River Camping (Day 2)

Wake up to the beautiful sounds of nature and enjoy a hearty jungle breakfast. Today, we walk deeper into the rainforest, spotting wildlife and learning more about orangutan behavior, lifestyle, and social skills. After lunch, continue your trek toward our camp at the edge of the scenic Bohorok River. You are free to swim, help the team prepare dinner, or even try your hand at fishing. After dinner, weather permitting, our team will prepare a cozy bonfire where the guides will entertain you with jungle skills, games, and songs.

Day 4: Relaxing River Life & Traditional Tube Rafting (Day 3)

Enjoy your final morning in the deep jungle. After breakfast, we can take a light walk around the rainforest or simply relax at the camp, swimming in the cool, refreshing water. After a fresh lunch, the real fun begins! We will leave the campsite by traditional tube rafting, riding the river downstream back to the village and directly to your guesthouse.

Day 5: Bukit Lawang to Medan or Airport Departure

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. At the designated time, our private driver will pick you up and transfer you safely back to Kualanamu International Airport (KNO) or your hotel in Medan for your onward journey.
